Gibson is making history at the Museum of Television and Radioin Los Angeles and New York. For the “Rock is Fifty! A Celebration of an Era from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum” exhibit in the Bell Gallery (through July 9), Gibson will proudly display the classic guitar models which ‘helped launch rock and roll,’ including a ten-foot tall Gibson guitar fiberglass sculpture, painted to mimic a Gibson Les Paul. Gibson is also featuring two Les Paul guitars signed by The Comets, for a giveaway at the end of the exhibit.

The “Rock is Fifty!” exhibit also includes artifacts and photographs, as well as a screening of “Pioneering Early Rock: Performances from The Ed Sullivan Show, 1955–60.” The video (which runs through April 24) features footage of the debut performances of Elvis Presley, Bo Diddley and Buddy Holly on the “Ed Sullivan Show,” as well as the first performance by Bill Haley and the Comets.
