The Gospel Music Association presented GMA Week 2005, billed as Christian Music’s Largest Industry Convention, at the Nashville Convention Center and Renaissance Hotel ballrooms (April 10-13). The three-day convention featured Gibson and Baldwin stages and booths, and was capped off with the GMA Awards, formerly known as the Dove Awards, which took place at the Grand Ole Opry House (April 13).

The Gibson/Baldwin stage was the main GMA performance stage, and was located in the Renaissance Hotel’s main ballroom. Gibson also sponsored The Musician’s Pass Stage, which featured standing-room only performances by two top Christian Recording Artists, Phil Keaggy and Neal Morse (April 12), one of Christian Music’s up and coming singer/songwriters Brian Lee Bennett, and also shows by Gibson USA Clinician Chuck Yamek (April 11 and 13).

Gibson presented a guitar giveaway on The Musician’s Pass Stage (April 13), where a lucky winner took home a Les Paul Standard (‘50s Neck).

At the Musician’s Pass exhibit booth, located at the center of the GMA’s Musician’s Pass exhibit area inside the Nashville Convention Center, all the divisions in the Gibson famil displayed their instruments, including Epiphone, Tobias and Valley Arts and Slingerland drums. The booth also featured an interactive POD station from Gibson USA and an interactive Acoustic Guitar Zone featuring Gibson and Epiphone Masterbuilt acoustic guitars. Perhaps the highlight of the booth was the very popular display of “The Life of Christ” Custom Shop Guitar.

Baldwin Piano also had a booth which presented several series of Baldwin grands and uprights.
