Baldwin’s new showstopper Regina Spektor flew up and down the keyboard of a red R-1 Baldwin grand piano (5’8”) on “Late Night with Conan O’Brien” (March 10). On her first-ever TV appearance, Regina performed songs from her new album Soviet Kitch, released March 1st.

Regina, who was born in Moscow and grew up in the Bronx, writes songs as if she were telling a story, and her music has been likened more to the works of Russian authors Chekhov and Gogol than to contemporary songwriters. She was a New York club favorite when she made her recording debut with an independent CD in 2001. She toured as the opening act for The Strokes while still unsigned by a major label.

Regina will be touring (March 24-May 12) promoting Soviet Kitsch (Sire/Warner Bros.). Also watch for her and her Baldwin at the Bowery Ballroom, playing with Sean Lennon (March 30), and on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" (April 20).
