The Gibson bus rolled into the South by Southwest (SXSW) Festival in Austin, Texas (March 11-20), where streets were blocked off and endless venues were packed with musicians, music industry networkers and music lovers of all kinds. Registrants from around the globe, who make the pilgrimage to Austin each year, flooded downtown Austin to hear all the best of all music genres including pop, jazz, country, blues, reggae, hip-hop and electronica.

Each day of the Austin Convention Center was full of tradeshows and exhibitions, as well as panels, workshops and meetings where the music industry’s best and brightest collaborated. Acts including Elvis Costello, Brian Wilson, Fat Boy Slim, The Donnas, Billy Idol, Aimee Mann and numerous other performers rocked out over 50 premier stages downtown.

Gibson rocked SXSW with the Texas Rollergirls, Austin’s league of 60 female roller derby competitors, complete with costumes and attitudes that rocked the Festival. Gibson was also ever-present throughout Austin with numerous bands rocking tons of venues with all kinds of different Gibson guitars.

Gibson also teamed up with Red Bull House in Austin to offer SXSW goers and artists a relaxed place to jam and also check up on emails.
