On the sunny afternoon of January 23rd, countless musicians, vocalists and actors gathered around a microphone in NRG Studios in North Hollywood to sing for help. “Forever in Our Hearts,” a song written about the Tsunami disaster and its victims, was performed in an effort to raise money for Tsunami relief. The song, written by Jason Miller (Godhead) and produced by Jay Baumgarder (NRG Studios), is downloadable from iTunes. All the proceeds from the downloads will be donated to Music for Relief which then divides the donations among the various organizations involved in helping the Tsunami victims.

Vocalists on the recording include Brian McKnight, Mya, Baldwin’s Ben Jelen, Gibson girl Fefe Dobson, Nate Dogg and many others, and performances from actors including Eric Roberts, Ming Na, and Rozlyn Sanchez. Players included Baldwin’s Ben Jelen, Josh Freese (A Perfect Circle), Stephen Perkins (Jane’s Addiction), Fish (Prince, Christina Aguliera), and Ben Moody (founding member Evanescence), along with members of P.O.D., Papa Roach, Chevelle, Lit, and 311.

The collaborative project, put together by several agencies including William Morris and On Point Productions, was also filmed for a music video and a possible full-length DVD, both for sale to benefit the Tsunami victims. “I am touched by how many people joined to help with this,” says Miller. “I think the great thing about a song and a DVD is that they can be available for weeks and months to come – still raising funds to help long after the media will have had to move on to other events. For as long as there is a need, I hope the recording can offer some help.”
