SOUPS UP! 

Mission:  Soups Up! will help teen and pre-teen musicians, singers and poets build character and increases networking skills with others their age.

 

1.What is Soups Up?

 

Soups Up! is a teen/preteen musical open jam session geared specifically towards youth in middle school and high school.  Musical instruments and equipment supplied by Gibson including corded microphones, bass/electric guitars, amplifiers, drum sets and pianos.  If you play any other instruments other than those listed, you may bring them to the event.   

 

2. Who does Soups Up help?

 

Soups Up! helps to open up doors for teen and pre-teen musicians, singers and poets to build relationships with fellow musicians/artist in their age range. They can also feel free to take in knowledge from guest professionals in the entertainment industry. 

 

3. When does it happen?

 

Soups Up! will be a once a month event, every third Wednesday of the month starting January 19th 2004.  Time of this event will be from 5pm to 7pm. 

 

4. Where does it happen?

 

Soups Up! takes place at the Gibson Show Room in midtown Manhattan located at 421 W. 54th Street ,4th floor.  Gibson has a professional sound stage where all performances will take place.  There will also be complimentary refreshment available.

 

5. Why is this program necessary?

 

This program will offer youth a safe and positive place to go to develop their musical skills and knowledge of the entertainment industry.   This program will also help the youth create a better appreciation for all forms of music. Soups Up! Establishes a firm and solid foundation for beginners and helps progress intermediate and advanced teen artists/musicians.
