Baldwin pianist Ben Jelen highlighted the “Not So Silent Night” Christmas Party on Wednesday (Dec. 8) in the Gibson/Baldwin New York Showroom. Ben played to a packed house on a Baldwin SF10 seven-foot grand which was decorated for the season with white Christmas lights. Ben also played some acoustic pieces on a Gibson Western Classic SJ-200. Performing along with Ben was artist Ellie Lawson (with guitarist Sam Bisbee), who sang “Gotta Get Up From Here,” the single from her newalbum due out next year. The event featured appearances from Times Square’s famed Singing Naked Cowboy  (“dressed” in his Gibson), Jody Porter (Fountains of Wayne), local artist Mike Errico, and Kristen and Cathy Henderson of Antigone Rising. Gibson also held a raffle for a Les Paul Melody Maker, which was won by Heather Hustis, an account manager for Nintendo’s marketing agency US Concepts. Gibson joined with Nintendo for the custom Nintendo Fusion tour guitar earlier this year.
