WHAT:       Aboard a flat-bed truck driving in from Nebraska, members of

                    Nashville’s GuitarTown project will receive fourteen of the 10 ft

                    tall guitar sculptures at the Country Music Hall of Fame and

                    Museum. The guitars will make this first stop at the Country

                    Music Hall of Fame and Museum and then go on to a special  

                    location for artist pick up

WHEN:      Friday, October 15, 2004 at 12:30pm (CT)

 

WHO:       Artists who won the right previously to design a GuitarTown

                   sculpture will be on hand to welcome the delivery.

 

WHERE:   Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum

                   222 5th Avenue South, Nashville

 

The GuitarTown project benefits more than 10 non-profit organizations and charities and includes the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the Downtown District, the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, United Way and several others. The project is administered by the Gibson Foundation, a division of the Gibson Guitar Corp. which is dedicated to improving the quality of life through its support of the arts, education, health and welfare and environmental causes.

 

The GuitarTown Project has already met with great enthusiasm from the City, demonstrated by The Steering Committee which is comprised of community leaders representing BMI, the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce, the Convention & Visitor's Bureau,  the Downtown Partnership,  the Metro NashvilleArts Commission,  the Tennessee State Fairgrounds, The Tennessean, WKDF 103 FM and WSMV-TV  and others.
