John Ottinger was born and raised in Southern California, where he graduated from the Pasadena Art Center College of Design.He focuses on creating unusual, inspiring works using painting and sculpting. "I grew up in a family business that created mechanical Christmas characters. This experience led me to work with plywood, vacuum-formed plastic, urethane, silicon, and bright colors of paint in my projects". For the last 7 years John has invented and designed top selling childrens products for the toy industry.

The subject matters that attract John are unexplored new worlds, mechanical men (robots) and developing new characters that are pure, good, uplifting and inspire creativity.
