Throwdown in the Lowdown
with More Power than Ever
Les Paul Studio Baritone
Les Paul Studio Baritone
Looking for the power and playability of the legendary Les Paul with the full-throated rumble of a long-scale, drop-tuned instrument? Meet the Les Paul Studio Baritone, an uncompromising journey to the lower dimensions of electric guitar tone. The Les Paul Studio Baritone takes all the time-tested ingredients that have made the Studio range a favorite with players everywhere since 1983, and crafts them into a guitar with a 28" scale length that's perfect for the lower tunings that are making inroads in rock, thrash and metal today. Whether you play C# F# B E G# C# or B E A D F# B, or your own variation of baritone tuning, the Les Paul Studio Baritone has the girth and the gusto to rip out the low-slung riffs in grand style. And it looks great, too, with its classic Les Paul design wrapped in a genuine nitrocellulose finish in high-gloss Honey Burst.

A solid, carved Grade-A maple top and weight-relieved Grade-A mahogany body give the Les Paul Studio Baritone the same tonewood combination that has been helping Les Pauls rock for nearly 60 years. It gives you the tonal depth and richness married to clarity and articulation that has helped to make the Les Paul the world's favorite single-cutaway electric guitar. The guitar's glued-in neck is crafted from solid quarter-sawn Grade-A mahogany and carved to a rounded '50s profile that is superbly comfortable in the hand. It carries a baked maple fingerboard with 22 medium-jumbo frets and a 12-inch radius for easy, choke-free bending. Other period correct details include a 17-degree back-angled headstock for optimum string pressure in the PLEK-cut slots of its Corian nut, and a 1-11/16” width that gives you plenty of room to move around the ’board.

Naturally, a major part of the Les Paul Studio Baritone’s punching power comes from its pickups, two of Gibson USA’s finest humbuckers. The 496R in the neck position is made with a ceramic magnet for outstanding power and fidelity, resulting in an extremely clear and articulat neck pickup that can nevertheless hit extremely hard when desired. The 500T in the bridge position also uses a ceramic magnet, along with overwound coils that make it one of Gibson’s hottest humbuckers, perfect for extreme snarl, growl and crunch from the bridge position. And to lock it all down there’s the classic pairing of Gibson’s legendary Tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece, famous for more than five decades for their sustain-enhancing solidity and superb adjustability. Wrap it all up, and it just might be the world’s most toneful way to throw down in the lowdown.

Every Les Paul Studio Baritone comes protected in a Gibson hardshell case and is covered by Gibson's Limited Lifetime Warranty and 24/7/365 Customer Support.
