A New Gibson Acoustic—
In the Footsteps of the Legends
There’s a new bird in town. A cousin to Gibson’s legendary Hummingbird and Dove, the Sparrow takes off from some common reference points, but offers plenty of new features to the artist or collector. Marrying the square-shouldered dreadnought popularized by the folk-boom of the 1960s with premium tonewoods and a longer scale length, the Sparrow’s voice is big and bold, while simultaneously sweet and rich. A new model from the acclaimed luthiers of Gibson Acoustic in Bozeman, Montana, this guitar is sure to delight folk, blues, country and rock ’n’ rollers equally, and will undoubtedly prove itself a classic.

The Sparrow is made from choice tonewoods, including solid timbers, like the best Gibson acoustics of the early part 20th century. Its top is made from solid Adirondack red spruce, a highly prized tonewood known for its sweetness and clarity. Indian rosewood back and sides give it added depth and richness, while its large body dimensions and X-braced top can produce a driving rhythm and sing subtler fingerstyle performances with ease. The Sparrow’s classic Antique Natural nitrocellulose lacquer finish is dressed in a multi-ply herringbone top binding, accented by a double ring soundhole rosette, and a large three-point pickguard with unique new decorative sparrow engraving. The Sparrow looks every bit as amazing as it sounds.

The Sparrow’s solid mahogany neck is carved to a rounded profile and follows a scale length of 25.5” to give the guitar a big, bold voice. A width of 1.725” at the nut and a fingerboard radius of 12” offer unparalleled playability. The bound rosewood fingerboard carries mother-of-pearl split-parallelogram inlays, which are echoed by the mother-of-pearl Gibson logo and crown inlay on the headstock. Hidden beneath the dense Tusq™ saddle of the belly-up rosewood bridge, an L.R. Bags™ Element® pickup with end-pin jack accurately translates the Sparrow’s complex tone when you plug into your acoustic amp or PA of choice. Gold Grover™ Keystone tuners and a Gibson hardshell case with blue plush lining are the icing on the cake.

Each Sparrow comes with an owner’s manual and is covered by Gibson’s Gold Warranty, along with Gibson’s 24/7/365 Customer Service.
