The Rebirth of a Rare Beast! 75th Anniversary Advanced Jumbo, 2nd Edition
75th Anniversary Advanced Jumbo, 2nd Edition
The 75th Anniversary Advanced Jumbo was so popular when it was first released in 2011 that Gibson Acoustic has released a 2nd Edition for our Five Star Dealers, this time with a red spruce top.

When originally introduced the Advanced Jumbo was one of Gibson's largest flat-top guitars. The Gibson catalog proclaimed "You have never heard a guitar like this! …a bass so deep and full that it can be felt as well as heard."

Original Advanced Jumbos are rare and precious beasts today – only 300 pieces were produced in the late '30s. Gibson records show a mere two guitars shipped in the last year of production. Even so, the legacy of this seminal round-shouldered dreadnought lives on in the 2nd edition of the 75th Anniversary Advanced Jumbo. Available only from Gibson Acoustic's Five Star Dealers, this meticulously crafted guitar is built with premium tonewoods and features period-correct design, construction and adornments. It is a stunning recreation of this legendary Gibson flat-top.

The 75th Anniversary Advanced Jumbo 2nd Edition is built with a top of prized solid Adirondack red spruce and a back and sides of beautifully figured solid Bhilwara rosewood from Northern India. Built with the resonance-enhancing, advanced X-bracing pattern with scalloped spruce braces, this tonewood pairing presents a virtual time capsule of vintage tone offering a rich, harmonics-laden voice with excellent punch and presence. The traditional long scale of 25 1/2" contributes to piano-like lows and sparkling highs, while a genuine bone nut and 17-degree, back-angled headstock further enhance resonance and sustain. The solid mahogany neck is carved to a modified "V" profile with a width of 1.725" at the nut and a rosewood fingerboard with a 12" radius and Gibson Acoustic's nickel-alloy fret wire for high tonal clarity. Vintage details are embedded throughout with hot-hide glue construction and a traditional compound dovetail neck joint with a 3-degree neck pitch.

With the attention to detail in construction and finish, the 75th Anniversary Advanced Jumbo 2nd Edition will be the prized centerpiece of any collection. Finished in a hand-sprayed, nitrocellulose lacquer custom "Montana Sunset" gloss burst that closely emulates the vintage burst on original AJs, this 2nd edition appears to glow from within. Other finishes include single-ply top and back binding, a traditional soundhole rosette, and "firestripe" pickguard, mother-of-pearl diamond-and-arrows inlays on the fingerboard, MoP script Gibson logo and diamond-and-arrow inlays on the traditionally shaped headstock. Other period-correct details include the rectangular rosewood bridge with genuine bone saddle and bridge pins and gold vintage-style open-back tuners. While it looks every inch the vision of vintage perfection, Gibson makes the 75th Anniversary Advanced Jumbo 2nd Edition totally stage-ready with an under-saddle L.R. Baggs™ Element® pickup and end-pin output jack so this great flat-top is primed for performance straight out of its black, blue-plush-lined hardshell case.

Each guitar includes a Five Star Dealer Exclusive Certificate of Authenticity, and is covered by Gibson's Gold Warranty and 24/7/365 Customer Service. Only 75 will be produced, so reserve yours now at your Five Star Dealer.
