Larry Carlton and Tak Matsumoto have won a Grammy Award for their collaboration, Take Your Pick. The two guitarists won in the Best Pop Instrumental Album category at the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards, held over the weekend.

Larry “Mr. 335” Carlton (known for his session work with Steely Dan and others) and Tak Matsumoto (known for his work with Japanese rock juggernaut B’z) brought East and West together on Take Your Pick, which was released internationally last year. The album was a massive success in Japan, in particular, where single “Tokyo Night” became the first instrumental track to hit the Top 10 in three decades. The two Gibson signature artists also teamed up for a sold-out Japanese tour.
