Legendary Beatles producer George Martin has executive produced the hard rock debut of Arms Of The Sun, an all-star project featuring Rex Brown (Pantera, Down), John Luke Hebert (King Diamond), Lance Harvill, and Ben Bunker (Gryn). The upcoming album was produced and mixed by Terry Date, who has worked in the past with such thunderous acts as Pantera, Soundgarden, Limp Bizkit and Korn. The project is part of Extreme Music’s Grandmaster Series, which features works by four of the world's top producers from the '60s through the '90s, including Martin, Date, Jack Douglas (Aerosmith, John Lennon, Cheap Trick) and Hugh Padgham (the Police, Genesis).

The Arms of the Sun sessions took place last October and November at Willie Nelson’s Pedernales Studios outside Austin. When it came to gear, Musician’s Institute alum Harvill says, “Almost every guitar on the record was a Gibson — Les Pauls, an SG and an Explorer.” As for the top secrecy surrounding the project, he adds, “We have been trying to keep a bit of mystery going up until now, but the time is now coming to blow it open.” According to Harvill, that means fans can expect a web launch in the next two weeks. A call to Arms indeed!
