After some heavy talk that U2 would tour in 2017, the dates are here. Bono and company have announced they will perform their celebrated album The Joshua Tree from front to back each night during a 30th anniversary tour of Europe and North America in 2017. The band will also headline this year's Bonnaroo festival, set for June 8 through 11 in Manchester, Tennessee.


The band announced the news via Twitter, saying, “The Joshua Tree. Every song. Every show. North America & Europe this summer,” along with a nostalgic video of the band and a link to the tour dates.

“In July, the tour brings (U2) home to Croke Park in Dublin, 30 years after the original Joshua Tree Tour's two memorable shows at the Dublin venue in June 1987,” the band added on its official website.

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds will open on the band’s European tour, and Mumford & Sons, the Lumineers and OneRepublic will open for various dates on their provide support on the North American run.

Tickets for the tour go on sale Jan. 16 in Ireland, Europe and the U.K. and Jan. 17 for the U.S. and Canada dates.
