Which Black Sabbath Member isn’t Ready to Retire Just Yet?
While Black Sabbath have announced that their latest tour was their last, the band’s guitarist Tony Iommi isn’t really looking to hang up his guitar just yet. Not by a long shot.
Speaking to NBC about his recent choral composition titled ‘How Good It Is’, written specially for his hometown Birmingham Cathedral and performed by the church’s choir, Iommi said, “It just seemed like a nice thing to do. It was really nice to work with a choir and to do something for our city."
In addition, Iommi has also written a piece that will feature in an episode of the CSI TV franchise and is currently working on putting together music from Black Sabbath’s final farewell shows for a live documentary, as well as mixing the live songs for a potential live album release. Iommi said, “We'll actually be doing a documentary. My job at the moment is to have a listen to what we've done."
The article also mentions Iommi saying he has “bags” off riffs that could find their way onto a future solo album.
