The great Hubert Sumlin, the man who provided the slashing, dancing guitar work on many of the classic sides recorded by blues master Howlin' Wolf, will mark his 76th birthday with a performance at New York City's Terra Blues on November 17.

In advance of that celebration, Hubert will perform this Saturday (Sept. 29) at the Mid-Atlantic Blues and Music Festival, which will take place at Bernie Robbins Stadium in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The two-day event, which counts Gibson among its sponsors, will also feature Lil’ Ed and the Blues Imperials, Big Bill Morganfield, John Lee Hooker Jr., Bernard Allison, Shemekia Copeland, and more. —Sean McDevitt
