Earlier this month, organizers of Australia’s massive Splendour In The Grass festival announced veteran British pop-rock act The Cure as one of the headliners of this year’s edition (alongside American indie rockers The Strokes, a reunited The Avalanches and Icelandic post-rockers Sigur Rós).

The ‘Friday I’m In Love’ legends have now announced two additional shows – in Melbourne and Sydney – after their Splendour In The Grass appearance. They’ve also promised details of two more shows – in Adelaide and Perth – soon. They play Splendour In The Grass on July 24, followed by Sydney on July 25 and Melbourne on July 28. A press release said, “the band will explore 37 years of Cure songs, mixing hits, rarities, favorites and as yet unreleased tracks in a brand new stage production”.

In addition to the Australian shows, The Cure will kick off their tour Down Under with a date in Auckland, New Zealand on 21 July. For fans of The Cure who aren’t in Australia or New Zealand, Robert Smith and Co. are touring North America from 10 May to 17 July and Europe from 8 September to 3 December, ending with three concerts at London’s Wembley Arena.
