Robert Plant

Never one to retire quietly on his achievements – and as frontman of Led Zeppelin, the band that virtually invented hard rock, there have been many – Robert Plant continues to restlessly explore new musical territory with each outing.

This August, Plant announced the upcoming release of Carry Fire, his eleventh studio album and his second with his current backing band, the Sensational Shape Shifters. He’s just released a new single – ‘Bluebirds Over The Mountain’ – that sees Plant teaming up with The Pretenders’ Chrissie Hynde (listen to it here). Plant also previously released ‘Bones Of Saints’ and ‘The May Queen’ from Carry Fire.

Talking about the new album Plant said, “I respect and relish my past works but each time I feel the trawl and incentive to create new work. I must mix old with new. Consequently, the whole impetus of the band has moved on its axis somewhat, the new sound and different space giving way to exciting and dramatic landscapes of mood, melody and instrumentation."

In addition to his already-announced UK and Ireland in November/December tour, Plant has also announced a 12-date US tour slated for February 2018 (with more dates to be added).

Robert Plant’s Carry Fire releases on October 13, 2017.
