Bon Jovi is up for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2018, and here's good news for fans of Richie Sambora in the band. Although Sambora left the group in 2013, he says he's more than willing to perform with the band at the induction ceremony if they're picked.

"Of course, why not?" he said in an interview with Billboard. "There's not a lot of malice there, you know. I mean…it was just time for me to leave at that point. So yeah, of course."

Bon Jovi was nominated for induction in 2011. Time will tell if this is the year for the guys.

"I'm not counting my chickens before they're hatched, you know what I'm saying?" Sambora said. "And looking at the list of nominees, there's so many great people that I think should've been in already. Like The Cars and Dire Straits and everybody that's up."

Sambora added in the interview that he thinks it's "just a matter of time" before Bon Jovi gets inducted into the Rock Hall.

"...We sold about 150 million records, so we put a lot of asses in seats and made a lot of people happy through music we made together,'" Richie said. "And I think maybe it's time for that recognition."

So, would Sambora ever think of rejoining Bon Jovi? "You never know," he said. "It depends on a lot of stuff. Not like we're talking about it."

The 2018 Rock Hall inductees will be announced in December.
