Moody Blues

The Moody Blues will tour the US this year to promote their career-spanning box set, Timeless Flight.

The box set is an 11-CD and 6 DVD package which includes key album tracks, previously unreleased mixes, out-takes and complete live concerts; three DVDs featuring rare television performances from around the world, promotional videos and the previously unreleased live concert from Olympia, Paris in 1970; and three DVD audio discs containing the long-deleted 5:1 surround sound mixes of Days Of Future Passed, On The Threshold Of A Dream, To Our Children's Children's Children, A Question Of Balance, Every Good Boy Deserves Favour and Seventh Sojourn.

There's also a 120-page hard-back book including a new essay by Moody Blues researcher Mark Powell plus rare and previously unseen photos on heavy weight paper; a replica full color tour poster and discography; replica ‘Threshold’ press pack containing photos and memorabilia; and an exclusive ‘Timeless Flight’ fabric patch. It also comes with a reproduction of the C120 cassette the band were presented with by Commander Robert “Hoot” Gibson, which he had carried with him four of his space shuttle missions (although for copyright reasons the cassette is blank and for display purposes only). This historic cassette, possibly the furthest-travelled illegally-copied recording in history, featured dubbed copies of Days Of Future Passed on one side and Seventh Sojourn on the other had travelled over 10 million miles, circled the earth more than 420 times and spent 26.5 days in space.

A much-truncated four-disc version of Timeless Flight will be released on June 17, featuring singles, key album tracks, previously unreleased mixes and live recordings.
