As part of their long-running reissue campaign, personally overseen by Jimmy Page, Led Zeppelin has announced the upcoming re-release of How the West Was Won, a live album that was first released on CD in 2003.

The original album – which has never been released on vinyl before - compiled recordings of two Led Zeppelin concerts in Los Angeles and Long Beach, California from June 1972. The recordings were edited and spliced together to create a single concert setlist. A statement on the band’s website about the upcoming reissue said, “Melded together and sequenced to replicate a single concert from beginning to end, the three-CD and four-LP collections capture the band at the height of its formidable powers.”.

This will be the first time How the West Was Won will be available on vinyl. Notable album highlights include a twenty-five-plus minute version of ‘Dazed and Confused’ and a twenty-one-minute medley based around ‘Whole Lotta Love’.

In addition to this reissue, Led Zeppelin have also announced an official illustrated book to commemorate the band’s fiftieth anniversary.
