It appears Jimmy Page has been reunited with the 1960 Les Paul Custom “Black Beauty” guitar that was stolen in 1970.

The news comes from former Led Zeppelin roadie Henry “The Horse” Smith, who has a Facebook Q&A page for fans to ask questions.

On February 25, fan Sue Clement asked if Smith had any info on the guitar. Two days later Smith replied “Glad to announce the Black Beauty is now back in the hands of Jimmy thanks in part to (producer/musician/collector) Perry Margouleff. This happened just a few months ago. It was a happy day for me to see Jimmy get this back.”

This guitar was the inspiration for the Gibson Custom Jimmy Page Les Paul Custom model of a few years ago, which had a slim-profile neck, Page BurstBucker pickups gold Bigsby vibrato and a six-position toggle for isolating the neck and bridge pickups or adding the middle pickup to any combination.
