Halestorm are days away from the release of their new covers EP, and ahead of the set’s unveiling, the Lzzy Hale-fronted band has posted their cover of the Joan Jett & the Blackhearts staple “I Hate Myself for Loving You.”

Lzzy, with her powerful vocals and serious guitar chops, is the perfect candidate to cover Joan Jett. She and Halestorm stay true to the original song’s feel but at a slightly heavier approach. The “I Hate Myself for Loving You” cover is currently streaming via the Halestorm’s YouTube channel.

Halestorm's cover of “I Hate Myself for Loving You” will arrive on the band's ReAniMate 3: The CoVeRs eP. The six-song set also offers Halestorm’s take on Soundgarden’s “Fell on Black Days,” Metallica's "Ride the Lightning," Twenty One Pilots' "Heathens," Whitesnake's "Still of the Night" and Sophie B. Hawkins' "Damn I Wish I Was Your Lover."

ReAniMate 3: The CoVeRs eP will arrive Jan. 6. Will an album of originals follow this year? Only time will tell.

Lzzy is such a fan of Gibson guitars that she has her own signature Explorer. Take a look at the stunning, white-and-gold model here.
