David Bowie

The third installment in a series of David Bowie box sets has been announced for release on September 29. Comprised of 11 CDs, A New Career in a New Town (1977-1982) includes five albums from that period, plus one EP and a disc of rarities. Taking its title from a track on the Bowie’s 1977 Low album, the set features Low, Heroes, the 2-LP live album Stage (original mix plus 2017 remix), Lodger (2017 Tony Visconti remix), Scary Monsters (and Super Creeps), a previously unavailable Heroes EP, and a new compilation titled Re:Call 3.

As reported by Best Classic Bands, longtime Bowie producer Visconti began remixing Lodger with Bowie’s blessing prior to the artist’s death in January 2016. The original album was sometimes described as sounding “thin,” a flaw presumably remedied by Visconti, using modern recording equipment. A New Career in a New Town (1977-1982) will also be available in a 13-LP configuration, and digitally.
