Miranda Lambert

After the nominations for the 2017 Country Music Association Awards were announced yesterday, Miranda Lambert – who already has thirteen previous CMA Award wins – came away with five new nominations, for her sixth studio album The Weight Of These Wings. Following Lambert, with four nominations apiece, are Keith Urban and Little Big Town.

Lambert, Urban and Little Big Town are all nominated for Single of the Year, along with Sam Hunt and Joe Pardi. In the Album of the Year category, Lambert and Little Big Town are joined by Chris Stapleton, Lady Antebellum and Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit. Little Big Town’s song of the Year nomination also helped pop superstar Taylor Swift score her first CMA Awards nod in three years, as the writer of their song ‘Better Man’

The 51st edition of the Country Music Association Awards will air live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on November 8. For the eighth successive year, Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood will host.
