Noel Gallagher

At his headlining set at the We Are Manchester benefit concert last Saturday, former Oasis guitarist/singer Noel Gallagher was brought to tears by the moment, as he sang the Oasis classic ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’.

After this May’s tragic terror attack at an Ariana Grande concert at the venue, Manchester Arena was forced to shut down and this Saturday’s benefit marked it’s reopening. ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’ had spontaneously become a rallying anthem for the people of Manchester after the attack and naturally, Gallagher chose to close his set with it. During Gallagher’s performance of the song, the massive crowd sang the chorus, word for word, leading Gallagher to choke up towards the end, stopping mid-way to wipe tears from his eyes. Watch footage from the moment here.

Other performers on the night included Courteeners, Blossoms, Rick Astley, Nadine Coyle and more.
