A new documentary movie on David Bowie sideman Mick Ronson is finally close to being released, with a wealth of archive contributions from the late Bowie himself, plus Ian Hunter, Lou Reed, Def Leppard‘s Joe Elliott, ex-Sex Pistol Glen Matlock and Roger Taylor of Queen. An updated biography of Ronson is also due in 2017.

Two years on from the platinum-selling Traveller, Chris Stapleton has revealed plans for two new albums for 2017. From a Room: Volume 1 and Volume 2 were both recorded in the legendary RCA Studio A in Nashville. Volume 1 contains eight of his own original songs and a cover of an old Willie Nelson hit.

On May 20th, Slash will headline The Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association’s Beastly Ball, organized to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Los Angeles Zoo. Slash will be backed by Jimmy Vivino and The Basic Cable Band (they’re the house band for Conan O’Brien’s show) and the performance will include special guests Jack Black, Grace Potter and Bernard Fowler. The entire concert as well as backstage footage will be streamed to VR-capable devices.

Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler says the band planned a blues album to follow 13 but The End tour meant it never happened. It’s highly unlikely now, with Butler saying his only real plans are to “Watch a bit of football, I suppose?”
