Liverpool to Celebrate 50 Years of The Beatles’ “Sgt Pepper...”

The Beatles’ Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band was released half a century ago in June, and the Fabs’ home city of Liverpool will hold a series of events to celebrate. There will be music, but no one is saying by whom just yet. And the album will be re-released: this time, finally including “Penny Lane” and “Strawberry Fields Forever”.

The album, titled Chuck, will be released on June 16. The material was composed and recorded over a period of many years, dating back as early as 1991. Guest performers include Gary Clark Jr., Tom Morello, Nathaniel Rateliff, and Berry’s grandson, Charles Berry III.
