Reuters reports today that Mötley Crüe will capitalize on the popularity of best-selling video game Rock Band to release "Saints of Los Angeles," the first single and title track from their upcoming album, due in July. (Further details of the album release are set to come during a press conference also scheduled for today.)

The NME Awards, to be held stateside for the first time on April 23 in Los Angeles, will reunite Jane’s Addiction at least for a night to bestow the band with the NME Godlike Genius Award for Extraordinary Services to Music. Original members Perry Farrell, Dave Navarro, and Stephen Perkins are all set to attend. Rollingstone.com reports, “A performance is possible, but not confirmed.” Since first breaking things off in ’91, the rock band has reunited a half dozen times for various albums and tours.

According to a just-released statement: "Velvet Revolver founding members Slash, Duff McKagan, Matt Sorum and Dave Kushner announced today that they are parting ways with singer Scott Weiland. 'This band is all about its fans and its music and Scott Weiland isn't 100% committed to either,' said Slash. 'Among other things, his increasingly erratic on-stage behavior and personal problems have forced us to move on.'"
