We reported last week on Metallica having posted some curious artwork on their website. Four illustrations were published without explanation within a couple days of each another, and they appeared to be slowly revealing some text. Each day brought a few more letters, which got fans talking: was Metallica trying to reveal their album artwork or album title? Turns out it’s the latter of the two. On Saturday—also the occasion of their headlining performance at Bonnaroo?Metallica’s album title was shown in full: Death Magnetic.

British-via-Sri Lanka hip-hop star and queen bee of all hipsters, M.I.A. has cancelled her entire European tour and her Bonnaroo gig, which had been set for this Friday, citing exhaustion. Though she reportedly told the audience at her McCarren Park Pool show in Brooklyn last Friday that she’d be canceling the tour, she gave official confirmation just yesterday.

Tool Drummer Attacked by Angry Sea Urchin

This past winter, longtime Tool drummer Danny Carey was attacked by a sea creature while taking a dip in the ocean on vacation in Hawaii. Old news? Not really. By now, the poor guy has had two surgeries, wore an enormous cast, forced the cancellation of a couple Tool dates, and only now is feeling up to showing off his scar to fans on the band’s Web site.

Proclaiming it to be the "Greatest day of my whole entire life," the Foo Fighters' visibly emotional Dave Grohl welcomed Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page and John Paul to the stage during the Foos Saturday night concert in front of 86,000-plus screaming fans at London's Wembley Stadium. Before assuming the drum chair for the beginning of the concert's two-song finale with his childhood idols, the former Nirvana drummer repeatedly promised the crowd that the show would be talked about "for the next 20 years." And he wasn't kidding.

AC/DC to Release Album Exclusively at Wal-Mart

The Wall Street Journal reports that AC/DC’s as-yet-untitled new album will be sold exclusively at Wal-Mart stores thoughout the United States. Released on Columbia and produced by Brendan O’Brien, the album’s release through Wal-Mart has industry types buzzing about the chain store’s increasing viability as a music market.
