Rock concerts are usually pretty predictable, from the act appearing on-stage far later than promised to the encore that ends the evening. However, once in a while an average rock concert ends up looking more like a WWF match than a typical performance. The video clips below all show what happens when rockers stop being polite and start getting real. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.

Keith Richards

Of all the guitarists in the world to mess with, why anyone would pick the Rolling Stones’ Keith Richards is beyond us — but Keith proves that he’s a true “street fighting man” when he bashes an overzealous fan with his guitar and then launches back into the song without missing a beat.

Henry Rollins

This clip isn’t so much a fight as it is a shirtless Henry Rollins completely pummeling a grabby fan during his Black Flag days. However the scariest part isn’t Rollins’ shirtless physique — it’s the sadistic grin he sports as he delivers a beating that Mike Tyson would be proud of.

Maynard James Keenan

Tool and A Perfect A Circle frontman Maynard James Keenan is known for being eccentric, but even the most hardcore fans were surprised when he grappled on-stage with a fan for an uncomfortably long period of time. Think about this clip the next time you’re planning on stage-diving.

Sebastian Bach

Most of us know Sebastian Bach as an adept vocalist and actor, but this next clip shows that he’s also a very talented gymnast. After being hit with a projectile, Bach dives into the audience feet first and proves that he truly is a youth gone wild — and we love him for it.

Anton Newcombe

The Brian Jonestown Massacre clip is interesting because it’s the only altercation we could find where the band members actually get into a fight with each other during a set. The lesson: Don’t mess with a dude’s sitar — and if you do, prepare to deal with the consequences.

Axl Rose

Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose really doesn’t like to have his picture taken. That was proved in 1991 when Rose incited a full-fledged riot after diving offstage to try to attack a concertgoer who was flashing pictures of him. Hopefully age has mellowed Rose’s attitude, but somehow we think this could happen again.

Kurt Cobain

Nirvana’s Kurt Cobain wasn’t known as a fighter, but when an overzealous security guard tries to manhandle him he brandishes his guitar as a weapon. The security guard manages to sucker punch him in the head and kick him in the torso before a crowd member and Cobain’s bandmates break it up.
