GIBSON SONISPHERE ROCKS REVIEW COMPETITION TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. These are the full terms and conditions governing the “Gibson Sonisphere Rocks Competition” (“Competition”) run by Gibson UK Limited (“Sponsor”) for the chance to win the prize below (”Prize”). Subject to the conditions set forth, the Competition is open to all UK residents who are age 18 or over (Entrants).Directors, officers and employees of Sponsor, its parent, and any of their respective affiliate companies, subsidiaries, agents, professional advisors, advertising and promotional agencies, and immediate families of each are not eligible to win any prizes. All applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. There is no cost to enter or win. Offer void where prohibited. In the event of any dispute, entries will be deemed to have been submitted by the owner of the e-mail address from which the e-mail was sent.

2. By entering their name into the Competition, Entrants agree to be bound by these Official Competition Rules and to release and hold harmless Sponsor and its respective subsidiary or affiliated companies from and against any and all claims or actions of any kind, whether under contract, tort, or any other legal theory, and agree to indemnify Sponsor against any liability or expense arising in connection with the foregoing. Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend or modify the Competition or any part of it, within its sole discretion.

3. Sponsor reserves the right to exclude any entry from the competition at any time and in its absolute discretion if the Sponsor has reason to believe that an Entrant has breached these rules.

4. The Prize Includes:

a. The opportunity to either represent Gibson as a Journalist the ‘Sonisphere UK’ music festival on 8 -10 July 2011(“Festival”).

b. One (1) Media Pass for you at the Festival under the same terms as accredited Journalists. One (1) of your respective guests will also be provided a Media pass.

c. VIP camping and parking at the Festival plus a guest. Winner and guest to provide their own tent. Travel to and from the Festival is at your own expense.

d. 1500 word maximum review of “My Sonisphere” to appear on www.gibson.com and credited accordingly.

e. Crew catering for you and your one (1) guest over the period of the Festival.

f. No alternative prize is available and the prize is not transferable. There is no cash alternative for the prizeThere is no cash alternative and it cannot be sold or transferred.

5. Only one (1) entry will be accepted per Entrant

6. How to Enter

a. Entrants must submit ONE (1) live reviewof a Gig to gibsonjourno@gmail.com with the subject heading SONISPHERE COMPETITION. This review must be no more than 200 words and pasted into the body of the email. All Entries shall be in the English Language and should not be extracts of longer works.

b. Entrant shall include his or her name, email address, and phone number with the entry, the name of the show or the band performing, the location of the performance, and the date of such performance. Entrant must include their contact information in the body of the email. Sponsor will only use the personal details that Entrant submits in relation to the publicity noted below and to administer the Competition.

c. The Entry must be the Entrants Original work and Ideas.

7. All entries will be judged by a panel of judges. The judges will select the winning live review (“Winner”) which, in their opinion, best conveys the nature of a live music experience. They will consider a range of factors including which Entrant submitted the most original, creative, and authentic review. The judging panel’s decision is final.

8. Entries must not submit a written review, the content of which is offensive, blasphemous, racist, or infringes the copyright or other rights of third parties.

9. The Competition closes as midnight on June 26, 2011 and all entries must be submitted before this deadline. Notification of winners will be no later than midnight on July 4, 2011. The Winner will be notified by email or phone number.

10. All entries must be the original work of the Entrant and must not infringe on the rights of any other party. The Entrants must be the sole owner of copyright in the review entered.

11. Entrants must not be professional journalists and, for the purposes of this competition, a professional journalist/writer will be considered to be someone who makes more than half their annual income from the sale of their writings.

12. Prior to submission, Entrants must not have offered any of their entries for sale, been paid for any publication of any of their entries or won or been a runner up in any other writing competitions with their entry.

13. Entries and other submitted material become the property of Gibson and will not be acknowledged or returned. By submitting an entry: (a) Entrant agrees that entryshall be a “work made for hire,” with all rights therein, including, without limitation, the exclusive copyright, being the property of Gibson; and (b) in the event Entrants submission is considered not to be a “work made for hire,” Entrant irrevocably assign to Gibson all right, title, and interest in Entrants Video (including, without limitation, the copyright) in any and all media whether now known or hereafter devised, in perpetuity, anywhere in the world, with the right to make any and all uses thereof, including, without limitation, for purposes of advertising or trade. Winner agrees to take part in post-competition publicity. No compensation will be payable to Entrants or Winner for any of the above uses. While Sponsor makes every effort to credit Entrants, including in printed reproductions of their work, we cannot guarantee that every broadcast use of the reviews will include Entrants name.

14. As a condition of being awarded the Prize, Winner will be required to execute and deliver to Sponsor a signed Affidavit of Eligibility, which includes an acceptance of these Official Rules and a release of liability.

15. Sponsor reserves the right to cancel this Competition or alter any of the rules at any stage, if deemed necessary in its opinion, and if circumstances arise outside of its control.

16. If the Winner is unable to be contacted after reasonable attempts have been made, Sponsor reserves the right to either offer the prize to a runner up or to re-offer the Prize in any future competition.

17. Sponsor will not be liable to provide an alternative prize or any cash equivalent if, for whatever reason, the Festival does not take place and/or is cancelled.

18. Winners of the Prize and their guests must comply with all reasonable instructions of us and any third parties organizing the Festival in respect of their attendance at the Festival and shall be bound by any terms and conditions and rules presented by us or such third parties in respect of the Festival.

All requests for Official Competition Rules must be made by December 31, 2011.The winner’s list will be available until July 4, 2013 on Gibson.com.

20. The Competition and these Official Rules will be governed, construed and interpreted under the laws of the United Kingdom.Entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and by the decisions of Sponsor, which are final and binding in all respects.Sponsor reserves the right to change these Official Rules at any time, in its sole discretion, and to suspend or cancel the Competition or any entrant's participation in the Competition should viruses, bugs, unauthorized human intervention or other causes beyond Sponsor's control affect the administration, security or proper play of the Competition or Sponsor otherwise becomes (as determined in its sole discretion) incapable of running the Competition as planned.Entrants who violate these Official Rules, tamper with the operation of the Competition or engage in any conduct that is detrimental or unfair to Sponsor, the Competition or any other entrant (in each case as determined in Sponsor's sole discretion) are subject to disqualification from entry into the Competition.Sponsor reserves the right to lock out persons whose eligibility is in question or who have been disqualified or are otherwise ineligible to enter the Competition.If you have any questions about these Official Rules or the Competition, please e-mail them to david.bower@gibson.com.
