Brandi Carlile

Brandi Carlile recently performed an intimate showcase gig in the Gibson Guitar Studio in London’s West End to a specially invited music industry and press audience. Born in Seattle, the 26 year-old singer/songwriter will make her U.K. debut in 2008 with the essential new LP The Story. Produced by legendary Grammy winner T-Bone Burnett (Counting Crows, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss), it’s already making waves in the U.S. and looks set to be one of the ultimate discoveries of 2008.

A self-taught singer and guitarist, Brandi grew up on the live stage. Combining blues and soul with a nod to Bonnie Raitt, she expanded her impressive sound with twin brothers Tim and Phil Hanseroth, who form the core of her band alongside Matt Chamberlain (Morrissey).

Having toured America as special guest to Ray La Montagne, the Fray, Chris Isaak, and Tori Amos, Brandi is a talented artist in her own right and performs at London’s Borderline on November 30—her U.K. debut, which has completely sold-out. She is currently in the midst of a coast-to-coast, VH1-sponsored American tour.

Signed to Columbia Records U.S on the strength of songs she'd recorded at home, her self-titled debut Brandi Carlile earned her a place in Rolling Stone’s ‘Top Ten Artists To Watch’ list.

The Story is Brandi’s most definitive record to date. Featuring a duet with the Indigo Girls on "Cannonball," it boasts 11 other hook-laden tracks. Four of them—"Tragedy," "Turpentine," "‘What Can I Say," and "Throw It All Away"—are featured in the smash-hit U.S. television show Grey’s Anatomy.

Now, Brandi is rapidly reaching a new level of success in her career. On November 26 she releases a live EP followed by The Story in 2008.
