Gibson, presenter of Miami GuitarTown along with the city of Miami and Miami-Dade County, revealed a completed 10-foot tall Gibson guitar sculpture. Key Biscayne-based visual artist Trevor Wanless opened the doors of his workshop and let the cameras take an exclusive preview of the impressive “Essence of Miami” Gibson Les Paul guitar as it was being transformed into a remarkable piece of art which will be exhibited throughout the city of Miami.
“This is a tribute to the culture, people and architecture of this vibrant and sensual city,” said Wanless. Through his artwork, Wanless illustrates his lifetime passion for this diverse and pulsating community, and invites natives and visitors to interpret and enjoy his vision.
The “Essence of Miami” Gibson Guitar will be part of the Miami GuitarTown’s exceptional display of ten-foot Gibson guitar sculptures and regular size Epiphone showcase guitars designed by local visual artists. About the Artist: Trevor Wanless
Key Biscayne born and raised artist Trevor Wanless has been passionate about the arts since childhood, which led to his degree in Advertising from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. After graduating, he dabbled in various types of media, ultimately finding his passion in acrylics. To date his portfolio consists of over 25 Pop Art, acrylic on canvas pieces. Sizes ranging from 5” x 5” to 96” x 96” some originals and some commissioned portraits.
His art has been displayed locally as well as donated to many charity auctions throughout the city. His paintings can be recognized by his signature bright color pallet influenced by the vibrancy of his home town Miami.
