The GuitarTown Project
The GuitarTown Project is a public arts project featuring 10-foot tall fiberglass Gibson Les Paul Guitar Sculptures that are to be artistically designed by visual artists and celebrities, based in the chosen city, along with smaller Showcase Gibson Les Paul guitars. The guitar sculptures will be placed throughout the city in front of landmarks and businesses. The project is a great opportunity for visual artists and celebrities to be involved with a unique public arts project in their respective cities.
The project will showcase regional artists, musical artists, create partnerships in the community, promote tourism, and provide much needed funding for selected charities. A series of ten-foot guitar sculptures will be painted by visual artists of the community and presented in an exclusive exhibit in the city. Once the exhibit has run for the selected amount of time, the sculptures and guitars will be auctioned off for charity in a gala event that is also live online and in broadcast.
