Assistant General Counsel

Job Location: Nashville, TN

Gibson Brands, Inc., the world’s premier manufacturer and marketer of consumer electronics, musical instruments and professional audio equipment, is seeking an Assistant General Counsel. This position reports to General Counsel.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with M&A and Financial transactions
  • Provide Hands on legal advice regarding all legal matter effecting the company
  • Work with business counterparts, identify legal risks and issues raised in contractual pursuits and on-going programs and develop solutions as appropriate
  • Develop the preparation, negotiation, and administration of commercial agreements
  • Assist in implementation of international corporate entity information and management process
  • Assist in supporting defense and/or prosecution of company litigation
  • Support governance and corporate recordkeeping requirements
  • Assist in the oversight of outside counsel and service provider compliance with company service policies and tracking performance to budget

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctorate Degree
  • 5-10 years (minimum) law firm or in-house legal experience with business and transactional law. In-house is strongly preferred.
  • Integrity, solid judgment and business acumen
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and to multi-task
  • Ability to interact with a varied range of people
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be highly organized
  • Willing to work occasional nights and weekends
  • Strong commitment, willingness to learn, and grow with organization
  • Must be proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
