Regional Director, Entertainment Relations, Asia

Gibson Brands, Inc., the world’s premier manufacturer and marketer of consumer electronics, musical instruments and professional audio equipment, is seeking a Regional Director in Entertainment Relations (ER) for the Asia market.

The Regional Director, ER for Asia will report directly to the Global Director of ER based in the US headquarter. This positon will be responsible for developing and executing multiple strategies and tactics to reach potential consumers of Gibson products by creating impressions through numerous avenues. The position will also be responsible for leading a group of ER Professionals and overseeing all ER activities in Asia.

Based in Hong Kong, frequent travelling is required to offices in Tokyo, Mumbai, Beijing and Sydney.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and execution of multiple strategies and tactics to reach potential consumers of Gibson products by creating impressions through numerous media avenues
  • Develop and implement a systematic process for tracking and reporting on the progress of the development & execution of the above strategies and tactics
  • Assess and report on the progress made within each line of business
  • Effectively develop relationships and negotiates deals with the most popular artists, noted up and coming artists, leaders and others in our more traditional sectors such as the music industry, television, movies, radio, concerts, festivals, etc. that garner the largest exposure or impressions
  • Effectively develop relationships and negotiates deals with the popular figures, noted up and coming figures, leaders, and others in non-traditional sectors such as sports, sports entertainment, fashion, food, and social media that garner the largest exposure or impressions
  • Build a strong team of ER Professionals and Coordinators to support the overall ER activities in Asia

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications or related fields
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience, preferably in music, entertainment or related industries
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in international business management through Asian region
  • Experience with successfully creating impressions through numerous media avenues
  • Have a full understanding of media needs and media relationships
  • Strong connections in music, entertainment or related industries
  • Possesses great entrepreneurial spirit and true passion for building something from the ground up
  • Possesses compelling planning and analytical skills
  • Experience in building teams and structure is highly desired
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Able to work efficiently without systems
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English is a must, while an additional Asian language would be an advantage
  • Willing to travel frequently throughout Asia
