Business Development Manager - Australia and New Zealand

Gibson Brands, Inc., the world’s premier manufacturer and marketer of consumer electronics, musical instruments and professional audio equipment, is seeking a Business Development Manager. The BDM’s main objective is to develop and optimize the sales and placement of a suite of products within a specific region.  The BDM represents Gibson Brands, Inc. and both manages and enhances the strategic relationship with key accounts within the region and internally represents them.  This position reports to the President – North America Sales. 

The BDM needs to have in-depth understanding of the customer’s strategy and must define an account strategy that drives profitable growth opportunities as well as operationally managing the execution.  The goal is to maximize the value (top and bottom line) of the short-term and long-term for Gibson Brands, Inc. while maintaining total customer satisfaction.

Primary Position Responsibilities
  • Accountable for achieving budgeted sales volumes, prices and profit margin at a specified number of customers.
  • Develop a trusted partnership between the national and regional accounts through the coordination of sales, contracts, and product support teams.
  • Accountable for developing new business and developing existing relationships with key customers
  • Focus on increasing profitability and turnover by utilizing proven sales strategies, identifying buyer influences, overcoming objections, introducing new products and negotiating pricing.
  • Install and implement long-range planning to increase account penetration, satisfaction and sales growth.
  • Responsible for creating and delivering compelling sales presentations by leveraging professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Maintain weekly forecasting by working closely with internal demand planning and customer replenishment teams.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor Degree in Marketing & Sales, Business Administration and Master in Business Administration (MBA) is preferred but equivalent experience will be considered.
  • 5 plus years of successful business background experience with a proven track record of managing National and/or Regional accounts.
  • Established on-going relationships with National and/or Regional accounts.
  • Excellent organization and planning skills, strong verbal and written skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to take hands-on approach and able to work independently.
  • Musical instrument background is helpful, not required.
  • Must have a valid passport and be available to travel both locally and internationally as required.
