Corporate Controller

Gibson Brands, Inc. (f/k/a Gibson Guitar Corp), the world’s premier manufacturer of musical instruments and professional audio equipment, is seeking a Corporate Controller to join the Finance team. The Corporate Controller will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and be based out of Gibson’s World Headquarters in beautiful Nashville, TN – The Music City.

The Corporate Controller is responsible for the monthly close process for all global subsidiaries.  This position will interact will personnel across all domestic and internal subsidiaries to develop and maintain a uniform chart of accounts and maintain and develop financial statement and management reports within the consolidation software.  The position is also responsible for leading, organizing, directing and controlling the work of accounting personnel in collecting, summarizing, and interpreting financial data for the use of management, creditors, and taxing authorities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Participates in and leads team to perform monthly internal close process and the consolidation of all global entities.
  • Coordination with multiple foreign subsidiaries to maintain and control uniform chart of accounts and account mapping.
  • Maintain and control financial statement formatting and reporting.
  • Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring and enforcing policies & procedures.
  • Provides guidance to the global management team supporting strategic decisions, capacity planning, capital requests, standard costs, variance analysis, physical inventories, operational metrics, ERP systems, reserve requirements, and other management objectives.
  • Protects assets by establishing and monitoring the implementation and maintenance of internal controls and procedures.
  • Actively participates in initiatives and special projects as required by senior management, divisional leadership, and corporate.
  • Assists with the development and implementation of new procedures and processes to enhance the productivity, efficiency and workflow if the Finance Department.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required. Master’s degree in Accounting preferred.
  • CPA required
  • Minimum of 7 years of corporate manufacturing experience is required.
  • International accounting experience is preferred and international consolidation experience is a plus.
  • Experience with accounting consolidation systems are required, preferably with Great Plains, SAP and Hyperion.
  • Management experience in leading accounting professionals and interfacing cross-functional teams is required.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize work, establish and execute plans to meet tight deadlines, multi-task, and work under pressure with a strong attention to details is required.
