Sales Associate

Job Location: Memphis, TN

Gibson Brands, Inc., the world’s premier musical instrument manufacturer and the home of such preeminent brands as Gibson, Epiphone, Baldwin and Wurlitzer, is looking for a Sales Associate.  This position will be based out of Gibson’s Memphis Retail Division.


To contribute to an environment that delivers on a transformational experience for both internal and external customers. Drive sales through use of strong selling skills and a high level of engagement. Build a solid repeat customer business to further your customer relationships and generate consistent, proactive sales volume.


To perform the job successfully, the individual must be able to execute each essential duty satisfactorily.  Other duties, assignments and specific projects may be assigned at the discretion of management. 
  • Take ownership for the customer journey throughout the store to develop and maintain productive relationships.
  • Ensure a high level of customer experience through extensive product knowledge and product ownership
  • Contribute to an environment that delivers on a transformational experience for both internal and external customers
  • Demonstrate a strong use of selling skills
  • Achieve sales and metric goals
  • Build and maintain new and existing customer relationships
  • Build a solid, organized client book which furthers your customer relationships and generates consistent, proactive sales volume
  • React to the rhythm of your business, don’t rely on walk-in traffic, but through client development, outreach and events
  • Execute and maintain all brand operating standards to support brand consistency
  • Emulate a “change leader” mentality to adapt to the environment while creating consistency for the customer
  • Assist in maintaining store visual and cleanliness standards daily
  • Ensure all sales and operational policy and procedures are adhered to.
  • Accurately process all POS transactions and capture of customer information
  • Assist with shipping responsibilities and tours when needed
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures with emphasis on loss prevention and operational excellence
  • Be a team player and model the Gibson Way daily
  • Appropriately manage conflict and take ownership for your part in the team dynamic
  • Contribute to a positive atmosphere that is fun, professional and team oriented
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 to 4 years retail sales and client development
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Multilingual preferred
