Demand Planner

Job Location: Nashville, TN

Gibson Brands, Inc. (f/k/a Gibson Guitar Corp), the world’s premier manufacturer of musical instruments and professional audio equipment, is seeking a Demand Planner.  The Demand Planner is a key component in the GB S&OP process and will develop/maintain sales plans enabling GB to meet sales, inventory, and customer service targets. This role also collaborates daily with other stakeholders in the supply chain; Sales, Marketing, Sales Logistics Order Desk, and Global Supply Centers.  Demand Planner will lead GB monthly S&OP meetings and will be tasked with maximizing sales plan accuracy, optimizing inventory levels, and identifying opportunities to achieve operational excellence.  The Demand Planner will be part of the Supply Chain Management team, reporting to the Supply Chain Manager.

Primary Position Responsibilities
  • Utilize MS Excel and SAP APO to develop weekly and monthly Demand plans to maximize business targets (e.g., Sales, Inventory, Customer Order Fulfillment, etc.) throughout the S&OP horizon
  • Lead monthly S&OP meetings:
    • Prepare all sales plan and inventory data
    • Generate sku level S&OP report(s)
    • Identify bottlenecks, opportunities, and propose resolutions/actions
    • Prepare meeting minutes and distribute to all stakeholders
    • Ensure the agreed S&OP plan is updated in SAP APO
  • Interface with global supply centers to collaboratively resolve supply constraints to ensure supplies (volume/mix) support GB sales plans
  • Manage inventory within defined targets without negatively impacting sales
  • Manage phase in & phase out process to minimize component and finished goods obsolescence
  • Work with Global Product Creation team to fulfill customer floor set/reset model timing and quantities
  • Collaborate with Sales, Sales Logistics, and Marketing teams to develop sales plans based on customer sell through, customer promotion data, inventory data, and sales targets
  • Compile monthly ATS (Available to sell) lists to provide visibility of excess stock and potential sales opportunities
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics/Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations, or Statistics
  • Demand Planning or Supply Planning experience
  • Knowledge of demand planning concepts and integrated planning software such as SAP APO or similar system
  • Strong MS Office skills, specifically Excel and/or Access
  • Strong analytical skills, interest in figures/data, detail oriented
  • Comfortable in a complex international environment
  • Team player; good communication & interpersonal skills ; takes initiative and demonstrates problem solving abilities
  • Accurate, independent, stress proof, flexible, comfortable working under pressure
  • APICS, Six Sigma, Lean, etc., preferred but not required
