Country Legend, Ray Benson, arrived at the Austin GuitarTown press conference today via tractor with the “GOD BLESS TEXAS” ten foot guitar in tow. The “last trek” of the guitar, on loan to the City by Gibson Guitar, symbolizes the culmination of the community arts project.

The annoucement included details of the Austin GuitarTown Auction Gala, benefiting several local charities. The event will be held on Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at GSDM’s Idea City. In addition, a limited-edition commemorative book of the project is on sale now at area bookstores.
